Honor Roll BJJ's 1st Annual Kid's Gi In-House Tournament, July 23rd!

We are very excited to finally have a great new academy with enough mat and viewing space to hold our first kid's tournament! Open to all students of BJJ, 3-14 years old, white to green belts (all academies are welcome) that would like to come and test their skills against their peers in a fun, less-intense environment than a federation run tournament! Fantastic practice for the older kids who get to mix it up with athletes they don't normally train with, and perfect for the little ones just starting their competition journeys! Great confidence booster!

Our tournament will be held on July 23rd, doors open at 9:30am. The matches will begin promptly at 10:00am. Please be sure to ARRIVE 30 MINUTES before your scheduled start time as we may run early or late depending on match lengths. PLEASE NOTE: To be fair and respectful of everyone's time, if you are not there when your match is called we will have no choice but move on without you. YOU WILL BE DQ'd with no refund.

All participants will receive a medal, and those who register BEFORE July 15th will receive an event T-shirt (as we are placing size-specific order if you register after that date we will NOT have a t-shirt for you). Winners will receive a Gold, Silver or Bronze medal, and have their name [and possibly photo] published on our post-event coverage on this website & social media pages.

We will also have snacks, coffee and drinks available for purchase at the event, and nice outdoor tables with umbrellas for relaxing before/after matches for family members. We encourage everyone to stay for the higher belts as this is great experience for the younger/lower belts to watch some of the older/more technical students compete.  Our location is also around the corner from STARBUCKS and across the parking lot from RATTLERS BBQ, SUBWAY. PANDA and LAS DELICIOUS, all great places for lunch!

Please click on the flyer/photo below to be taken directly to the registration page! We hope to see ALL our students and ALL our friends from nearby academies there! It will be a lot of fun! OSS! #futureofBJJ #matpack

Daniel, Raquel & Ryan hit the last tournament of the year, the IBJJF International Championship. All three making the podium: Daniel earning gold and his 6th World title, Raquel with a well earned Silver, Ryan with the Bronze. Nice way to end the year kids! Professor is very proud of your dedication, hard work and the way you represent the Academy so well throughout the year!

Honor Roll BJJ Competition Team | 2015 Medals & Titles

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE HONOR ROLL BJJ COMPETITION TEAM FOR ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL YEAR!

As 2015 draws to a close and the last tournament of the year is in the books, I am very excited and proud to announce the 31 members of our hard working comp team have once again surpassed all expectations, finishing the year ranked 9TH in the WORLD by the SJJIF/NABJJF.

2015 HONOR ROLL BJJ TEAM STATISTICS:

  • 29 - REGIONAL, STATE, NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENTS ATTENDED
  • 31 - STUDENTS COMPETED AT LEAST ONCE, MOST MULTIPLE TIMES
  • 186 - INDIVIDUAL GI & NOGI MATCHES
  • 158 - GOLD, SILVER OR BRONZE MEDALS EARNED
  • 72 - GOLD MEDALS
  • 61 - SILVER MEDALS
  • 25 - BRONZE MEDALS
  • 9 - ADDITIONAL IBJJF, SJJIF WORLD TITLES EARNED (20 Total)
  • 3 - NEW WORLD CHAMPIONS ADDED TO OUR RANKS (10 Total)

This means our team ends our 2nd year together with an incredible 250+ Gold, Silver or Bronze medals, and 20 World Titles, since we opened in late 2013. Enough said. Honor Roll BJJ is a force to be reckoned with on those competition mats, and it all comes down to one guy... Professor Bruno Antunes. His care and dedication to every student who walks in our doors has the added benefit of producing World Champions, along with some of the nicest people you'll ever meet.

Thank you to every member of the team, and to all our students and parents who make it all possible. Without your support our team would not be ranked so highly, nor been so rapidly recognized as a top 10 team in the BJJ community. Here's to a great year & let's do it again in 2016! Bigger and better things await us all when we work together and one big family! OSS!
